Playgroup is your child's very first step away from home — and we take that seriously. Our toddler play school in Thoothukudi is built around comfort first, learning second, because a child who feels safe is a child who is ready to learn.
Mornings begin gently. Children are welcomed by name, settle in with a familiar teacher, and move into a circle of songs and rhymes that mark the start of the day. From there, the day flows between free play, guided activity, snack time and rest — never rushed, never rigid.
Two-year-olds learn with their whole bodies. So our Playgroup room is full of things to touch, pour, stack, squash and sort. Sand and water trays, dough, big soft blocks, picture books and simple puzzles all do quiet work: they build the small hand muscles a child will later need to hold a pencil, and the confidence they'll need to try something new.

Gentle toilet-training support, at your child's pace
First friendships: sharing, taking turns, waiting
Settling in — the part parents worry about
Almost every child cries in the first week. It is completely normal, and it passes. Our teachers are trained to handle separation gently: a familiar face at the gate each morning, the same teacher for the same group, and a predictable routine that quickly becomes reassuring.
We keep our Playgroup groups small so that no child is ever lost in the crowd. And we tell you the truth about how the day went — not just the good bits.
Is my child ready for Playgroup?
If your child is around two, curious about other children, and can manage a couple of hours away from you, they're ready. They do not need to be toilet-trained. They do not need to speak in sentences. They do not need to know their letters. That is our job, not theirs.
Questions parents ask
What age is Playgroup for?
Playgroup is for children aged roughly 2 to 3 years. If your child is close to either end, come and talk to us and we'll help you pick the right group.
Does my child need to be toilet-trained?
No. Toilet training is something we support gently, together with you. Many children finish training with us during the Playgroup year.
How long is the Playgroup day?
Playgroup runs within our regular school hours, Monday to Friday. Message us on WhatsApp for the current timings and fee structure.
